Simple solutions to carry with you when you are on the go.

Are you looking for a healthy snack to recharge your batteries? 

It’s not always easy to know what to eat when you only have a few minutes to prepare your snack or when you’re out and about. 

Troopers, we are going to give you some very simple healthy snack ideas that are easy to find, allowing you to eat on the go and enjoy.

If it‘s chocolate, then make sure it is dark chocolate: Always go for a good quality dark chocolate containing at least 70% cocoa. No other chocolates, only dark chocolate though, it’s the best and is excellent for boosting your mood.

Fruits: Fruit, of course, will always be a welcome addition to your healthy snack suggestions that are easy to carry and eat whilst on the go. Try to choose the ones that fill you up the most, such as bananas,  apples and pears.When the weather is hot, you should certainly consider some of the juicier fruits such as peaches and oranges. However, Troopers, be careful with the packaging, so that they don’t go off too soon.

Energy balls: Coconut, cashew, date and cocoa based balls that are very easy to make, take away and will keep you going all day.

Nuts and dried fruit: Walnuts, cashew nuts, almonds, hazelnuts and pumpkin seeds. All of these are Ideal for snacking between meals. However, you should buy them plain with no salt, as they are better for your health.

Boiled eggs: A snack that is simple and healthy, it has a caloric intake of about 70Kcal per serving and in one egg you will find proteins, minerals, vitamins and carbohydrates, as well as providing a natural source of vitamin D. The first time I saw a STORM coach eating two hard-boiled eggs in the middle of the morning… I thought: ‘He’s crazy!’ It was an experience that stuck with me for some time, but now that I look back on it, I think he was so right. This is one of the best healthy snacks available with the added advantage that hard-boiled eggs are super convenient to carry around.

Snacking between meals helps control hunger so you don’t overeat when it’s finally dinner time. If you’re too hungry between meals, it can cause you to consume more calories overall. The trick to healthy snacking is to choose healthy, nutrient-rich foods that provide protein and fibre when you’re out and about. Troopers, avoid processed foods where best possible.
